Collection: Fioranese Ceramiche - RETRO CEMENTINE
Inspired by traditional cement paste tiles, square or hexagonal, whose dominant colors were often in shades of gray and brick. Precisely at the beginning of the twentieth century, cement tiles, together with grit, experienced a period of immense success: since they were considered robust and economical, they were often used to cover service rooms, or even work spaces. The composition could be based on the simple alternation of colours, but the cement tiles also lent themselves to much more sophisticated decorative solutions, created with flowers, frets, friezes, which interpreted the suggestions of the dominant Art Nouveau and Deco styles, or represented a fresh alternative to the carpet, whilst guaranteeing the same function of space delimitation and aesthetic strength. A recovery that has become a "trend", once again reinterpreted on tiles in ceramic with new stylistic and chromatic solutions.
